Howl with anger, pain or delight. Let it out. Let it rip. Or just howl for the sake of howling. It brings the pack closer. Singing and dancing are its joyful corollaries. We all look equally silly when we dance, after all. Remember what Woody Allen says: “I don’t get mad. I grow tumors.” If you hold back your feelings, reality (or lack thereof) blackens and spirals out of control, not unlike kudzu, then turns to poison. Control is illusory and highly overrated. Just remember: you can howl lovingly and with dignity. Or not.
Wolf symbolizes a strong connection with instincts, telepathy or intuition. Highly adaptive, they communicate clearly and are pack-oriented and fiercely loyal. Very social, they move freely in the night. And they sing like a cross between Aretha & Pavorotti! Companionship, however wild, is wolf’s instinct.
